Summary of Job:

The Account Director on the Creative Services team leads the Account Service function of Vail Resorts’ in-house creative agency. The role is responsible for ensuring that Vail Resorts generates breakthrough creative strategies, develops world-class creative assets, and executes with high efficiency in partnership with the Creative Development and Production & Asset Management functions on the Creative Services leadership team. Leading with a client service mindset, the Director will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners and vendors, and a variety of cross-functional teams – including Omni-channel Marketing, Guest Insights, Analytics, IT, Resort Brands, Epic Pass Brand, Business Teams, etc.

The successful candidate will be capable of leading a multi-level team, and be experienced in exceptional client service, creative feedback, highly technical work, and business strategy. They should have a solid understanding and perspective on best in class creative, brief templates, GTM processes, timeline management, and maximizing internal vs. external creative making power to drive efficiencies. Most importantly, the Account Director will be able to simplify the complex to ensure high-quality prioritization, decision-making, and creative problem-solving. ?

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead annual, quarterly and monthly planning to ensure alignment with brand and business strategies, while managing internal and external agency capacity

  • Evaluate and optimize external agency relationships and model to maximize output and effectiveness

  • Optimize Account Service team structure to maximize capacity and effectiveness against top brand and business priorities?

  • Recruit, onboard and develop top talent

  • Foster a team culture that generates high levels of client service, creativity, effectiveness and efficiency

  • Establish and facilitate low-friction ways of working amongst the Account Service Team, its internal clients and internal / external partners

  • Bring in a steady stream of external inspiration to stretch the organization

  • Partner with brand leaders to establish productive relationships with external agencies and freelancers, where needed (with an eye on scope clarity and cost efficiency)

  • Ensure best-in-class briefing practices to inspire creativity, enable efficiency, and allow for agility

  • Generate clear and actionable creative and content marketing strategies that drive ROAS

  • Ensure scalability of structure and processes for future growth

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree and 10+ years’ experience in related field (Marketing, Communications)?

  • 5+ years of team leadership experience

  • Significant creative agency experience, with nuanced understanding of optimal agency org design and roles and responsibilities

  • Have an eye for Branding and Creative Design

  • Experience with Content Analytics & KPIs (e.g. ROI & Engagement metrics)

  • Experience with Communication Strategy and/or Account Planning

  • Experience managing and overseeing business affairs and legal reviews across all creative deliverables

  • Financial Management and Procurement Experience – help manage and facilitate discussions with Finance and Procurement to ensure agency and production budgets are meeting industry benchmarks, as well as internal financial stewardship expectations

  • Extensive Creative Exposure – well-rounded creative development experience including concepting, channel delivery, and production experience across channels and deliverables

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to action on insights and make strategic decisions

  • Strong learning agility and excels in environments where s/he must tackle and solve new and increasingly complex strategic business challenges and issues

The budgeted range starts at $114,000 - $156,900 + annual bonus + equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
