Adventure Park Maintenance Technician

As an Adventure Park Maintenance Technician, your role is to perform all maintenance and repair procedures on activities related equipment such as the Alpine Coaster, Zip Lines, Alpine Slide, Bungee Trampoline, Kids Adventure Zone and other amazing summer activities at Park City Mountain. The Adventure Park Maintenance Technician will need to be highly self-motivated and will work closely with the Maintenance Team Lead, Adventure Park leadership team and Activities staff to provide timely maintenance service with an emphasis on: safety, guest service, and efficient operation of all Summer Activities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Proactively assist the Team Lead and Lead in managing the daily duties of the maintenance crew as needed
  • Perform, document and help to ensure compliance with daily and periodic inspections to meet all applicable regulations
  • Help to lead construction of new activities, pre-season set up of activities and post-season tear down
  • Help Team Lead coordinate daily grounds keeping in summer and snow removal in winter
  • Help Team Lead coordinate daily upkeep of associated facilities and equipment
  • Proactively communicate maintenance needs to ensure timely ordering of parts and equipment
  • Engage with guests and staff while exhibiting Vail Resorts Core Values
  • Help train new Activities Maintenance Staff
  • Assist with operation of activities as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License & Satisfactory Driving Record (in accordance with VR Drivers Policy)
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work outside in varying weather conditions

Preferred Experience:

  • Zip Line, Mountain Coaster, and other operational experience relevant to activities at Park City
  • Experience with technical/mechanical aspects of Coasters, Zip Lines, and other activities
  • Experience working with equipment such as skid steer, forklift, truck and trailer
  • Mechanical skills and aptitude
  • Comfortable with working at height up to 160ft

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills: communicates in a positive, solution oriented way to proactively address maintenance and operational needs
  • Teamwork: works effectively with activities leadership and other department staff to plan, schedule, and complete maintenance tasks on time (lift maintenance, lift operations, base operations)
  • Organizational skills: organizes and accomplishes a wide variety of tasks and prioritizes daily work to maximize productivity and efficient maintenance of all activities
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a highly dynamic work environment
  • Self-motivated with an eye for detail in the work area
  • Ability to safely use a variety of tools ranging from basic hand tools to technically advanced and specialty equipment
  • Ability to teach and mentor new maintenance staff effectively
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
