The Head Cashier will be the primary point of contact for all Front Desk billing inquires, financial reports, tasks and discrepancy resolution. The Head Cashier must communicate effectively in writing and verbally to provide prompt follow up to staff, guests and third parties. Furthermore, the Head Cashier will act as the liaison between Front Office and Accounting. This position is tasked with ensuring all outstanding financial tasks are completed as applicable to the Front Office.

  • Monitor and respond to all billing inquiries via the Front Desk voicemail
  • Complete and document Credit Card authorizations
  • Process and document tax exempt reservations
  • Post and audit third party room charges such as Well & Being Spa and Vail Sports
  • Complete daily credit limit report and coordinate with Front Office Management to collect a valid method of payment
  • In coordination with Front Desk Management audit the Outstanding Report each day and reconcile any outstanding balance
  • Ensure all Bonvoy certificates are appropriately applied to applicable guest reservations
  • Post and audit resort credits for Leisure programs such as The Hotel Collection, Luminous and Frosch
  • Prepare welcome letters for consortia which outline benefits such as resort credit and property discounts
  • Audit and reconcile the rate variance report to ensure all reservations are set up appropriately
  • Process skip accounts and submit to accounting as applicable
  • Ensure all no shows are appropriately reconciled
  • Ensure all early departure and late cancelations are charged appropriately
  • Support the Front Office & Reservations teams as needed
  • Complete other assigned tasks as determined by management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma; college degree in business, hospitality management or related preferred
  • 3+ years customer service experience in a luxury hotel setting
  • Exceptional customer service skills with focus on building relationships
  • Administrative and previous financial experience preferred
  • Experience using FSPMS, LMS, Lightspeed or other Hotel Property Management Systems
  • Excellent problem resolution skills along with outstanding communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to coordinate various tasks with multiple departments
  • Ability to complete tasks in a time manner and meet deadlines
  • Highly responsible with a professional presentation
  • Proficient in MS Office
